Introduction
This update applies to all networks powered by the PopMedNet Release 4.x Software and includes enhancements and bug fixes to the PopMedNet software. This release includes updates to the PopMedNet Portal, the DataMart Client, and introduces the new Web-Based DataMart capability. A new desktop DataMart Client update is available but is not required.
These release notes cover software versions 3.3.0 through 4.0.1 The enhancements and bug fixes are listed below.
New Features and Fixes

| Web-based DataMart Client* | New Application | The web-based DataMart Client provides a web-based platform for administering DataMarts. The WDMC provides the features and functions of the existing desktop DataMart Client while simplifying support, maintenance, and deployment. The WDMC may be extended with additional modules. The subsystems in the WDMC include a user interface, application services, DMC web service client, request service web API, request model adapter service, network connection manager, and data service. These services may be deployed in a variety of configurations to suit data partner needs and security requirements. Note: Desktop DataMart Clients will continue to be updated and supported. |
| Organization, DataMart, and Registry metadata searching* | Portal - Feature | Enables users to search for Organizations, DataMarts, and Registries by querying the metadata for those entities |
| Network Activity Report* | Portal - Feature | Generates a summary of the number and types of requests submitted within a network. Users may select specific projects or time periods for reporting. |
| Network Messages | Portal - Feature | Enables Network Administrators to send custom messages to the entire network. Users receive an email with the message and may view a copy of the message in the new "Messages" panel on the Portal home page. |
