Introduction

PopMedNet version 6.7.1 is patch release to the PopMedNet distributed query tool that includes several bug fixes.

Bug Fixes

UpdateDescription

The ‘Response Approval’ step was skipped when select DataMarts uploaded results

Requests were skipping the ‘Response Approval’ step for select DataMarts. This bug caused results to be sent directly to the Coordinating Center following upload to the DataMart Client rather than wait for approval despite proper security settings and permissions.

This bug has been fixed for all DataMarts that require results to be reviewed and approved.  Any uploaded results will go to the ‘Awaiting Response Approval’ status and will require a reviewer to approve the results before the routing is marked ‘Complete’ and is available for download by the Coordinating Center.

Non-zipped files sent from the query tool appeared to be corrupted when downloaded from the DataMart Client.

This has been corrected.  Error messages will no longer appear when opening a non-zip file downloaded from the DataMart Client.

An error message appears when unzipping a request file downloaded from the DataMart Client (DMC) that indicates the zip file is empty. The zip files were are actually empty, but cannot be unzipped using windows extraction

This has been fixed. Windows extraction can now be used to unzip files downloaded from the DMC.

Response ZIP files downloaded from the query tool are empty.

Some large response files were not uploaded to the DMC even when they appeared to upload successfully. Therefore, these zip files were empty when downloaded from the query tool. This has been fixed and the file size limit for a file uploaded via the DMC is 2GB.

Dropdown Menu Items are hidden by Breadcrumb on all Request PageThis has been fixed, the "Requests" dropdown menu is no longer hidden behind the breadcrumb bar

Known Issues

IssueWorkaround
Response Detail Web Portal tab resizing

In Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Edge, the Response Detail tab for Question Engine-based requests may occasionally not resize properly to accommodate viewing a large number of DataMart responses at once. This will prevent the user from being able to view results directly on the PMN Web Portal, but it does not prevent the user from downloading results. Two workarounds have been identified:

  • Use Chrome or Safari web browsers when viewing results on the PMN Web Portal. These browsers are not affected by this issue.
  • In Firefox, when the Response Detail window fails to resize, right-click the contents of the Response Detail tab and click This Frame>Reload Frame.
Checking for NULL ADMIT_DATEs in PCORnet Menu-Driven QueriesThe Observation Period term in PCORnet Menu-Driven Queries fails to check that ADMIT_DATEs are not NULL if both minimum and maximum dates are left blank when creating the query. To avoid this, always enter a minimum and/or maximum date when using the Observation Period term in PCORnet Menu-Driven Queries. This is expected to be fixed in PopMedNet 6.7.

Error when double-clicking on a request file in the DataMart ClientWhen a DataMart Administrator opens a new file distribution or modular program request, they must click on that file in order to download it.  In many instances, if the user double-clicks on that file, an error appears and the DataMart Client closes.  to avoid this, all users should single-click on any files for download in the DataMart Client.
Recent changes to the FireFox web browser are not compatible with secure PopMedNet sites

Users will need to use another web browser, such as Chrome or Internet Explorer to access the Query Tool.  This affects the following sites:
