New Features in 5.0.6

PopMedNet 5.0.6 is a minor update to the PopMedNet software, featuring improvements to the ESP Query Composer. A DataMart Client update is not required.

Full details of the release, with technical information, can be found in the PopMedNet 5.0.6 Release Notes

ESP Query Composer Changes

Users must select the Zip Code stratification, in addition to 10-Year Age Group, Sex, and/or Race-Ethnicity, when composing a request to see this view.

Location and Custom Location Terms

Location and Custom Location terms may now be added to an ESP Query Composer request to query for patients from multiple locations. Multiple locations and custom locations may be included in a single request.

Location Term

Enables users to select from a list of Massachusetts towns.

Custom Location Term

Enables users to define their own location using a set of zip codes.

Projected Results View by Location

The Projected results view for ESP Query Composer requests now displays results by location, if one or more Locations or Custom Locations were defined for the request and Zip Code was selected as a stratifier.

Two tabs are displayed in this view:

Project to Requested Locations

Displays the observed patient and population results, census data, and calculated estimated for each location specified in the initial request. Results are stratified by location and stacked on top of one another in alphabetical order by location.
For calculations, each location is considered its own separate result set. For example, if Boston was selected in the request, the results would display the results for observed patients and the observed population with home zip codes in Boston compared to Boston census values. Adjustments and projections would be made based off of the observed Boston patients and Boston census values, as shown in the screenshot below.

Other Locations

Displays the observed patient and population results for each location specified in the initial request. Users may select the state of Massachusetts or any town in Massachusetts to display the census values for that location and calculate the adjusted and projected prevalence rates for the locations from the request based off of the selected census location.
For calculations, each location is considered its own separate result set. For example, if Boston was selected in the request, the results would display the results for observed patients and the observed population with home zip codes in Boston. If Massachusetts was selected for the census location, the census values for Massachusetts would be displayed next to the Boston counts and the adjusted and projected prevalence rates for Boston patients would be based off of the observed Boston patients and the Massachusetts census values, as shown in the screenshot below.

The census data for Projected to Request Locations and Other Locations are derived from slightly different data sets. Values may not be directly compatible.
