Problems with Microsoft Office after installing the DataMart Client
Problem
After installing version 3.3.0 of the DataMart Client application, when a Microsoft Office product is launched a configuration screen appears and some Office products will not launch.
Solution
There is a compatibility issue on computers running 64-bit Windows 7 and 32-bit Microsoft Office where Access drivers are not present in the default 64-bit ODBC Administrator Tool. To correct this issue, the DataMart Client installer installs two Access database engines, which add Access drivers to the 64-bit ODBC Administrator Tool. An unnecessary registry value added when the 64-bit Access driver install causes errors with Office 2010. Follow the instructions below to remove this registry value:
- Ensure that the DataMart Client installed successfully by launching the application from your desktop.
- Ensure that the Access drivers are present in the 64-bit ODBC Administrator Tool
- Navigate to the ODBC Administrator Tool by searching "ODBC" in the Windows search bar and select "Data Sources (ODBC)" or navigating to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC).
- Click on the System DSN tab and click the "Add" button.
- In the Create New Data Source window, ensure that Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *accdb) is listed.
- Contact support@popmednet.org for a registry script to remove the unnecessary registry value. Alternatively, manually delete the registry value by navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\FilesPaths in the registry editor and deleting the "mso.dll" value.
